Synopsis

Valeria loses her memory in a car crash while she is seven months pregnant. Years go by. One afternoon, in the dining room of her own house, it all comes back, and with it an unbearable certainty: while she was gone, another woman with her exact face took her seat at the table, her place beside her husband and her place in her son's life.

Heartbreakers is a story about a love that refuses to wait, and about what we are willing to replace rather than lose someone.

The production diary

  1. Part 1 of 5
  2. Part 2 of 5 · Coming soon

Julián and the android: one face, two women

How a fully synthetic face stays identical across every shot, how the audience tells two women with the same face apart, and how actor voices are designed without cloning anyone.

  3. Part 3 of 5 · Coming soon

The house: architecture, light and blocking

A Santa Fe house that does not exist, lit the same way in every shot, and the color-coded top-view maps used to block actors who do not exist either.

  4. Part 4 of 5 · Coming soon

The night of the accident: directing action with AI

The sequence that took the most versions: previs, camera maps, the god's-eye shot and how you get a video model to respect physics, geography and tone at once.

  5. Part 5 of 5 · Coming soon

    The screening: Heartbreakers in full

The complete short film with English subtitles, the final poster, and what we learned making auteur cinema with AI in Mexico.
